Stone Smoked Porter with Chipotle Peppers is Stone’s limited release to bottle version of their smoked porter at 5.9% ABV brewed with spicy chiles chipotle. By this I mean you would normally find this on draft if you ever visit the brewery. So finding a release for public consumption off Stone Farms is pretty remarkable. They also have their vanilla version I haven’t tried and I am sure is sweeter. They add a combination of spice to it that when mixed with the right amount of this smoked chocolate porter provides something that is sweet and spicy like other chili beers I have had. However, not the the amount added in stronger chile beers like that of the DFH Theobroma or the New Belgium Cocoa Mole. Flavors of dark smoked chocolate, light caramel with a little bit of coffee, with with an easy to tell, roasted sweet chipotle like the ones they sell in the mini cans. This is pretty sweet and I am sure would pair great with a nice dinner. Stout lovers would like this one even if you do no like chiles this is mild in comparison to other chiles or beers that may give you heartburn. It comes in a small bottle so its good enough to try if you want just a little spicy dark chocolate.
