Maracaibo Especial a.k.a Special Brown ale is a 7.5% ABV Brown Ale by Jolly Pumpkin of Michigan. This ale is brewed with Cacao, orange peels, cinnamon and spices in the Belgium yeast as brewed by the monks. Ofcourse it is also brewed with the Jolly Pumpkin tradition to make it a Sour Belgian Brown Ale. This beer is quite delicious. By infusing sour and Belgian yeast, they made a beer that is magical. Flavors of bread, wine, orange, cinnamon, caramel, chocolate, hazelnut, apples, raisins and tangerine. Almost like having a piece of toast with orange and grape jelly, peanut butter, Nutella and drinking it down with Lemon Iced tea and a little bit of wine. Leaves with this buttery feel that is a lot like butterscotch candy.Definitely not as sour as other JP beers but just enough to let you know hey…this is a JP beer… it is awesome. If you are not a fan of sours maybe this might not be your beer but this might actually be more tolerable than other JP beers. Go ahead and try it, you will be glad you did 🙂
Maracaibo Especial is another awesome masterpiece by Jolly Pumpkin. Initial flavor of Jolly Pumpkin sourness (as expected :P) is present. Made with wild Belgian yeast, Cacao, cinnamon, citrus peals and other spices. Flavors are as such, more of a sweet than sour flavor as opposed to other JP ales. Definitely finishes well with the citrus and cinnamon after taste. Definitely a fruity beer with the awesomeness of Jolly pumpkin.
