Gotta give special thanks to my friend Julio and his girlfriend Janette for hooking me up with this beer from Janette’s hometown in Utah. Like some of the other goodies that are normally not sold here due to laws, distribution restrains, quantity, or even exclusivity, you can only get this one in Utah. Well, as far as I know lol. Anyways, on to the review.
Aromas:
Grassy, grapefruit and earthy hops, orange, caramel, biscuit bread, orange preserves, honey, tangerine and mild melon notes.
Flavors:
Grapefruit, orange preserves, honey, toasted biscuit bread, piney and earthy hops, rye bread, caramel, pineapple, mild herbal spice, melon, kiwi, papaya and dragon fruit.
Aftertaste:
Rye, caramel, mild piney and grapefruit hop aftertaste. No alcohol in the taste, a moderate to sipping drinkability with a nice edge of refreshing taste.
Overall:
While it is sweeter than other bitter IPAs, I like it a lot. What can I say, sweet beers are my thing. However, if you are expecting a super hoppy beer, this may not be the one for you. If you like citrusy IPAs with sweet honey and caramel, then this is awesome!!
Anime Corner:
Rio from Harvest Moon was chosen for this beer for the obvious reasons. She is wearing similar farming gear and has a pitchfork like the dude on the label. She is also squatting, so yeah, couldn’t pair it any other perfect way. That and finding farming anime characters is tricky. It took me a very long time to find this piece.
