Brux Domesticated Wild Ale collaboration by Sierra Nevada and Russian River

Rating: 3.8/5

Brux Domesticated Wild Ale collaboration is made by Sierra Nevada and Russian River brewing companies of California. It is a 8.3% ABV bottle refermented Belgian style ale made with wild Brettanomyces yeast. The beer reminds me of the Lost Abbey’s Inferno Ale but not a Golden Ale in color. Some Brettanomyces ales have flavors like saisons/farm house ales but the distinctions are quite different. One being more flowery fragrant and fruity with bread notes, Saisons, and one more bready, tart and hoppy with complexities added by using the brettanomyces. One thing though, the taste is like that of smelling what it is like in a farm..alittle bit. So Saison does flow in this one as well. This ale produces flavors of bread, pears, lemon, peppery spices, minor banana clove and caramel . This beer was definitely made for aging. I think after a year or 2 or even 5, this beers flavors will grow more and more complex. Sometimes when it comes to beers that are meant to be aged, the ratings may not be appropriate. I guess this is why some of the Quaddruples, Barrel Aged, certain sweet chocolate stouts and even some of the best IPAs are rated higher in my list due to this reason. That or I have tried them several times to know I enjoy them so much. Overall, nothing too new for me really :P… Still up to par with some really good beers of the world.
