Populist IPA by Eagle Rock is a 7% ABV IPA made here in Los Angeles. The last time I tried an L.A. locally made beer was Angel City brewing. Aside from Downey Brewery too ofcourse lol. They set out to make this beer as well balanced as possible. Strong hoppy flavor without a lot of bitteness. The beer flavors are typical of IPAs with the grapefruit and pine. A good balance of tangerine, orange peel, light caramel, toast, little bit of honey, grassy hops with a pineapple aftertaste. A decent IPA but nothing as complex as other I have tried. One thing to note about this beer is definitely that it is sweeter and less bitter than others so it has that going for it. More hoppy 😛
