Firestone XV Fifteenth Anniversary Ale by Firestone Walker

Rating: 5/5 (Its that damn good but hard to explain.. . Comes with the strategy guide…lol)

Firestone XV Fifteenth Anniversary Ale is a Firestone Walker 12.5% ABV…well..Strong American Barrel Aged Blend Hybrid Ale. I would almost call this the Akira of beers. It is ridiculously good… and the “black hole” of complexity of flavor. I have never tried a beer that had so much complexity that some of the flavors are different after every individual sip. Wanna know how much is in here…here is how much they blended:

18% Helldorado (11.7% ABV) Blonde Barley Wine.
17% Sticky Monkey (12.5% ABV) English Barley Wine.
17% Bravo (13.5% ABV) Imperial Brown Ale.
13% Double Double Barrel Ale (11.5% ABV) Double Strength English Pale Ale.
11% Good Foot (14.3 ABV) American Barley Wine.
10% Velvet Merkin (8.6% ABV) Traditional Oatmeal Stout.
9% Parabola (13% ABV) Russian Imperial Oatmeal Stout.
5% Double Jack (9.5% ABV) Double India Pale Ale. I admit…even I was not worthy for its complexity. I have tried some of the best beers in the world and can describe as best to my knowledge the types of beers they are and how they taste. Hell even the most bitter of beers I have been able to taste test. This is something that is WAY OUT THERE. It is is simply …SO GOOD… but I get lost in the different flavors and none are ever disappointing. Well Let start by writing what the flavors are and why they are so special. Okay so here is the list of flavors I get. Strong silky Milk Chocolate, cappuccino coffee, whipped cream, Caramel, Vanilla, raisins, capirotada (mexican sweet bread with nuts and raisins), hazel nut, honey, faint citrus and pine, the way flowers smell this taste, cherries soaked in chocolate ( Reminiscent of the Black Xantus :3), Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Munky with Bananas, Caramel and chocolate. After a couple sips you can also feel some faint pineapple and mango but faint. My tongue can only make out so much 😦 !!!… DAMN IT…I am so pleased yet so left with more to wonder. Ah the hell with it… IF YOU LOVE CRAFT BEER… try this… and get ready to get MIND AND TASTE FUCKED!!.. This whole connoisseuring thing seems very difficult..JUST……………. ENJOY!!!!!

If I had not known any better, I would want to say that this is California’s response to the Dark Lord Imperial Stout. It is so thick and syrupy. Good luck finding the alcohol, I could not find any of it. What makes this beer so magical? As explained in the letter by the brewers at FW, it has to do with the old methods of aging beers in Barrels. Something that Stainless Steel barrels can never do. This is why it is a more natural from brewing process. The closer you are to nature, the closer you are to finding what you truly are. YES THIS BEER COMES WITH A STRATEGY GUIDE, ..NO JOKE!!!….
