Wee Heavy by Samuel Adams is 10% ABV Scotch Ale. This is the second time I try this beer. It is a beer that is dark and sweet but not so bitter. Flavors of smokey chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee, cherries, peach and dark fruits like raisins. While the beer is flavorful and masks some of the alcohol, there is enough in there that flows through to feel almost like liquor. I guess Wee Heavy is the name as this beer has to be sipped and enjoyed leisurely. Syrupy feel but in a good way :P. A dessert beer that drinks closer to a wine. I am sure it goes well with a good steak or fish. It is not bready like other dark beers but that’s what makes this one different. This is a beer that comes in a 4 pack and well it was one that is worth saving for a good day. Easily a favorite of mine without the bull of long explanations :P!!
Wee Heavy by name is a Scottish Ale that is definitely rich in oaky sweet malt flavor. Heavy on the alcohol but the flavors mask it very well. The palette is left with a sweet and low bitter after taste. This is a definite pick up.
