Ahoy I found a great treasure and a piece of beer history here!! This is Sunk Punk IPA by Brewdog (http://vimeo.com/channels/53318) the first beer to be aged in the bottom of the ocean. Don’t believe me? look at the video above. In fact the beer is has a nice fishy salty taste…LOL.. Legend goes that Scottish seas are cursed. Story goes that a poor fisherman always went to see to catch fish but he would always come short handed. His wife would cast spells and do rituals to try and see if her husband could catch more fish. Problem wasn’t that the magic was not working. The problem was that the man spent all day drinking ale to not give a hoot. When the wife found out, she cursed the sea by with the spell and her husband so as if he ever tried to return to shore a storm would take him down. Legend has it that when there are storms around the coast lines, some people believe it is the poor fisherman trying to fill his ale bottles. To calm these storms, people would through bottles of ale at the sea. Brewdog took it a step ahead with this special beer. It can definitely calm the most devastating storms. The brew is fermented with sea buck thorn berries, distilled sea salt, lager yeast for fermentation and RUM :d … This here be lots of flavor. Definitely citrus pine and salt. Some vanilla rum, toffee and other floral and fruit flavors are in there. Very sweet. I feel like I really had a chance not many can say they have. A chance to have a brew fermented in the bottom of the ocean and once with great flavor at that. This would definitely compliment sea food well. Sought by pirates, owned and savored by the few. The true beer experience here 😛
