Lil Citra by Pipeworks Brewing
Lil Citra by Pipeworks Brewing is a 4.9% ABV Session India Pale Ale brewed with Citra Hops
Label:
None.
==Introduction==
When I first saw this can, I definitely wanted to bring it to the site. Pipeworks brewing has been brewing lots of awesome beers but have also been doing lots of great art work with their beers. So whenever I see something that catches my eye, I definitely want to bring it to the site. This brew while light, it packed full of citra hops. Let’s see what it has to offer.
Aromas:
Grapefruit, citrus, floral and grassy hops, Stone fruit peach, apricot, tropical fruit mango, prickly pear, papaya, dragon fruit, kiwi, passion fruit, lychee, kumquats, biscuit bread, tangerine gummies, orange peel, orange zest, lemon candy and starburst hints.
Flavors:
Lots of Oranges, orange zest, orange peel, tangerine, Grapefruit, floral and grassy hops, lychee, kumquats, tangerines, tropical fruit mango, prickly pear, papaya, dragon fruit, kiwi, passion fruit, biscuit bread, Stone fruit peach, apricot, crab apples, honey dew melon, starburst candy, tangerine gummies, lemon candy, strawberries, green tea ice cream and honey.
Aftertaste:
Finishing dry with lots of citrus and tropical fruit notes, herbal hops and stone fruit. No alcohol in the taste, Clear golden honey body, smooth, rich, crisp and refreshing mouthfeel along with being ridiculously easy to drink.
Overall:
A very delicious session IPA. Pungent Citrus juices with a mix of tropical medley from the Citra hop awesomeness. Not a lot of malt but as you drink a great deal of it, the hops and fruit flavors just seem to gush out but with the dry finish leaves you wanting more. It is definitely on the light side and people for a light beer palettes may like. A recommend if you can get this one.
Anime Corner:
Pururun/Polly Esther from Samurai Pizza Cats and Starfire/Koriand’r from Teen Titans were chosen in this beer pairing since I wanted to pair with the cat and the colors of the beer. The orange and greens pair with the flavors of the beer but also Starfire. Polly Esther, although a Samurai, she is still knowledgeable of the ninja arts and can pair well with the cat in the label.

Introduction:
================
It has been a long time since I have reviewed this one. I got this one at thebottleshop.net. I last had this one back in 2014 and this one was bottled 4/12/2016 and my review was made 5/1/2016 so hopefully accuracy of the review does it justice to the freshies and hop heads. This is nowhere in California but is a common in Chicago. What they say about this beer is true, it is damn delicious and the artwork is amazing. This time it is different than the last time I tried it but yeah, it should be the same beer. Let’s see how it is at its freshest, Cheers!
Aromas:
Every damn tropical fruit I love from IPAs, Grapefruit, citrus, oranges, tangerines, lychees, dragon fruit, passion fruit, kiwis, strawberry, mango, passion fruit, papaya, Stone fruit peaches, apricots, apples, floral, grassy, herbal, piney and garlicky hops, caramel, toffee, biscuit bread, mild rye, pine resin and lemon peel.
Flavors:
Rich tropical fruit overlaps the hoppy dankness just like it did in the previous iteration but being fresh, damn, this is just wonderful. Hops ranging from floral, grapefruit, herbal, piney, grassy and garlicky dankness, But the forward flavors come from the tropical fruits such as dragon fruit, passion fruit, kiwi, lychee, strawberries, prickly pear, guava, coconut, papaya, apples, orange marmalade, tangerine gummies, rye bread, toffee, honey, sweetened condensed milk, flan, Stone fruit peaches, apricots, tangerines, lemon peel and toffee.
Aftertaste:
Lots of tropical fruits linger, caramel, dank garlicky, oniony flavors and grapefruit. No alcohol in the taste. While being an IPA, something is very smooth about this beer even while it seems like it has moderate to sipping drinkability. Moderately clear but has a crisp and refreshing medium mouth feel.
Overall:
The Gods smile as always. I think my previous explanation did it justice. The canned version and that being even fresher do wonders. A Tropical gold standard just like power plant triple IPA from El Segundo, one of my favorite IPAs. In fact, all the IPAs from Pipeworks brewings have definitely been above and beyond the typical IPAs and I would definitely love to see them around California. You got it good Chicago, keep making great beers!
Anime Corner:
Yoruichi Shihouin from Bleach and Rainbow Dash from MLP were used in the previous beer pairing. I made a good description in my past review so here is a rehash:
It was mainly because I wanted to do something that related to the whole Ninja Vs. Unicorn aspect. Being as the colors of the label best represent Rainbow Dash, it was quite fitting since many of the bronies make her seem like a bad ass. So here is a tribute to you bronies and pegasisters. I am mainly an Anime Otaku dude, but can appreciate a great pairing despite where it comes from. Yoruichi is the of the baddest Flash step ninjas ever and Dash can hit Mach speeds, so I figured even more rightfully so this pairing would work. Also the, rainbow in the aspect of flavor best pairs because of the variety of fruit tropics that this beer seems to unleash making it, well, damn epic. I am surprised this beer is not world class and not at the level of the Pliny the Younger or the Heady Topper.

Coconut Jones Dog by Pipeworks brewing
Coconut Jones Dog by Pipeworks brewing is an 8.5% ABV Sweet/Milk Stout brewed with Coconut, Cocoa Nibs and Vanilla Beans.
Label:
Stout with cacao, vanilla bean, natural flavors added
Jones Dog is a pup who knows what’s up. The addition of coconut to our milk stout with cacao nib and vanilla, makes this brew a real treat. No man’s best friend is an island, but this brew might make you feel like cold chillin’ on one. If you fetch a bottle, lap it up!
==Introduction==
Obtained this one from thebottleshop.net. This beer label intrigued me and being a coconut stout and from Pipeworks, I definitely wanted to get it. They make great beer and I haven’t had anything yet that I did not find very delicious and exceptional from them. Since Death By Coconut by Oskar Blues, Mash & Coconut and Cacaonut from the Bruery, there hasn’t been a coconut beer that has really exceeded my expectations on the coconut beer category. So another coconut stout is definitely something I want to take a shot at. Let’s take a look at this one. Cheers!
Aromas:
Toasted coconut, macaroons, vanilla, caramel, toffee, Mexican Cocada candy, Danish cream, Jamoca ice cream, rocky road ice cream, Bailey’s Irish cream, Khalua liqueur notes, coffee cake, marshmallows, smores chocolate, dark fruits like raisins, currants, boysenberries, dark cherries, raspberries, pomegranates, rich almond joy chocolate, cookie dough and pecan pie.
Flavors:
Rich toasted coconut, Mexican cocada coconut candy, coconut macaroons, vanilla, caramel, toffee, coffee cake, marshmallows, smores chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, dark fruits like raisins, currants, boysenberries, dark cherries, raspberries, pomegranates, rich almond joy chocolate, cookie dough, Danish cream, Jamoca ice cream, rocky road ice cream, Bailey’s Irish cream, Khalua liqueur notes, Cherry cordial chocolates, Tropical fruit notes of Piña Colada, dragon fruit, passion fruit, bananas, pecan pie, hazelnuts, chocolate mousse, coconut flan and 3 leches chocolate cake.
Aftertaste:
Rich Coffee cake, Toasted coconut, vanilla, Hazelnut, dark fruits especially the dark cherry and raspberries, rocky road ice cream, mocha, cookie dough and tropical hints linger. No alcohol in the taste, pitch black darkness of inner coconut space body, velvety, silky, smooth and chewy mouthfeel with a moderate to sipping drinkability.
Overall:
Trying to compare some of the best coconut beers I have ever had, this one is definitely higher on the dark fruit and cherry list. The complexity in comparison to some of the other coconut beers I have had is definitely different and while I love each one for their different, I love this one for the fruitiness. I would definitely like to try this one again and would recommend those that can get this one should definitely try it.
Anime Corner:
Krystal Fox from Nintendo’s StarFox, Lavenda by Tofu93 and original art by priincessu were used in this pairing as I wanted to pair with the dog at the beach. While these characters are K-9s, although different than the normal pooch, I think the colors along with the dog help accentuate the scene of tropical beer here.

Lizard King by Pipeworks
Lizard King by Pipeworks is 6% ABV American Pale Ale brewed with Mosaic and Amarillo Hops.
COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American Pale Ale is fresh as they come and only being poured at select bars in Chicago. Brewed with Mosaic and Amarillo hops, Lizard King will be the perfect way to start (or end) your day.
==Introduction==
Pipeworks has made some many tasty brews and it is thanks to online stores that many can get their beers as they are primarily from the Midwest. Their IPAs rule but this is the first time I will be trying one of their Pale Ales. The label looks awesome like Geon from King of Monsters fighting a giant Skeleton Monster. I’m assuming the whole lizard thing goes inside with the hops but not sure. Either way, let’s see what this one is about. Cheers!
Aromas:
Grapefruit, citrus, floral, piney and grassy hops, Stone fruit, peaches, apricot, lychee, lemon candy, crabapples, tropical fruits like passion fruit, kiwi, dragon fruit, honey dew melon, mango, papaya, guava, oranges, cherries, kumquats, honey, sweetened condensed milk, orange peel and green tea ice cream.
Flavors:
Rich tropical fruits like passion fruit, kiwi, dragon fruit, honey dew melon, mango, kumquats,
Stone fruit, peaches, apricot, lychee, lemon candy, crabapples, grapefruit, citrus, floral, piney and grassy hops, honey, sweetened condensed milk, orange peel, strawberries, prickly pear tunas, Starburst, mango cheese cake, papaya, guava, oranges, cherries, grapes, green tea ice cream, gummy bears, and tangerine preserves.
Aftertaste:
Rich stone fruits, tropical fruits, biscuit bread, herbal, grapefruit, citrus, lemon candy and orange hops and starburst candy. No alcohol in the taste, Hazy Golden honey body, smooth crisp, rich, and refreshing mouthfeel and easy to drink.
Overall:
Supreme delicious hoppy goodness! This was a damn good IPA. Like the Psuedo Sue I had from Toppling Goliath, they managed to get the rich tropical goodness of their IPAs to be fruitier in their American Pale Ale form. I wish we had this one here in California as I would probably get this one all the time. Like Psuedo Sue, a supreme Pale Ale amongst them all. Now with this being about Lizards, it was well fitting. Highly recommended.
Anime Corner:
Godzilla, Super Godzilla and Mothra from the Godzilla series was used in this pairing to go with the whole aspect of the Lizard King as Godzilla is the original and true King of the Monsters. The reason I used Space Godzilla-Chan was because the way she sits on the throne looking like a king or a bad ass. Technically, Space Godzilla is like an evil brother to Godzilla but either way, the whole Lizard King theme was awesome here. Mothra and Godzilla is hinted as being more than friends.

Twin Pines Mall by Pipeworks with Emporium The Collaboration is an 8% ABV Imperial India Pale Ale brewed with Spruce Tips and Honey.
Label:
Get your DeLorean up to 88 MPH because Pipeworks and Emporium are taking you Back To The Brew-ture. For Twin Pines Mall we furled the Flux Capacitor with 1.21 Jigawatts of spruce tips and wild flower honey. The future is now so drink up before you’re OutaTime. Great Scott!
==Introduction==
Right on time for October 21st 2015 which was supposed to be the time Marty, Doc and Jennifer travelled to the future in Back to The Future II the movie. While the time has been long past, I have been fairly busy with life stuff and have not even had a chance to update the website so I can get the reviews on here. Well, now that it is closer to the end of the year and stuff has slowed down, I have more time! This beer from Pipeworks looks very promising as it is not your typical IPA. Using actual Spruce tips seems very intriguing as that come from Christmas Trees. Knowing almost everything I have had form Pipeworks has been ridiculously awesome, I hope this is as much hyped as the movie was. Cheers!
Aromas:
Lots of Spruce Christmas tree fragrance, stone fruit lychee, apricot, peaches, Starburst candy, lemon candy, lemon peel, lemon zest, tropical fruits like kiwi, guava, papaya, dragon fruit, passion fruit, prickly pear tuna, honey dew melon, raspberries, agave nectar, mangos, coconut hints, marshmallow, sweetened condensed milk, orange preserves, Wild flower honey and hibiscus hints.
Flavors:
Rich Christmas tree spruce, pine cones, piney, grape fruit, dank, oniony, floral, grassy and herbal hops, Wild flower honey, hibiscus hints, tropical fruits like kiwi, guava, papaya, dragon fruit, passion fruit, prickly pear tuna, honey dew melon, raspberries, agave nectar, mangos, stone fruit lychee, apricot, peaches, Starburst candy, lemon candy, lemon peel, lemon zest, tangerine gummy bears, tres leches cake, mango flan, caramel hints, blue basil, coconut hints, marshmallow, sweetened condensed milk and orange preserves.
Aftertaste:
Rich Honey, Christmas Trees, rich tropical fruits, fruit juice, dank hops and sweet vanilla lingers. No alcohol in the taste, mildly hazy golden body, crisp, rich and refreshing mouthfeel with a very easy to drink.
Overall:
Woah, this is heavy! And excellently exceptional. This is a unique IPA in so many ways using a lot of what Pipeworks does best to make exceptional beers. However, with the addition of the Spruce Tips to give off the Christmas tree flavors, the beer is taken to another level that I honestly haven’t tried something like this before. Literal Pine Christmas flavors. A great beer that will definitely meet the needs of a Back to Future and IPA fan alike.
Anime Corner:
Several Anime shows and Characters with all referencing to Back to The Future in this one. I tried to find as many that would definitely fit with the label and the cover of the movies. Definitely glad I found some.

Hey, Careful Man, There’s A Beverage Here by Pipeworks brewing
Hey, Careful Man, There’s A Beverage Here by Pipeworks brewing is a 10.5% ABV White Russian Imperial Milk (Golden) Stout brewed with lactose sugar with cacao, coffee and vanilla.
Label:
Way out west there’s this beer . . . beer I wanna tell ya’ about. Beer by the name Hey, Careful Man, There’s a Beverage Here. Beer inspired by a certain Dude’s favorite potable. This Imperial White Milk Stout is brewed with vanilla beans, an abideable amount of cacao nibs and cold-pressed coffee that really tied the beer together, did it not? It is the perfect oat soda for those days when you’re out of your element and all you can do is say, “F it, Dude, let’s go bowling.”
==Introduction==
This is it, the liquid ambrosia of the Big Lebowski. There are already a couple of breweries who emphasize stuff from the movie to even naming their brewery, “The Dudes”. Now Pipeworks has come out with the official lebowski drink, the White Russian in beer form. There isn’t much I have to say further but get on to the review for this one dude. The drink is getting cold, so cheers!
Aromas:
Rich caramel, Rich vanilla, Rich coffee, White chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Milk chocolate, German chocolate, Belgian chocolate notes, tres leches/3 milks cake, maple syrup, stone fruits like peaches and apricot, Mocha Khalua coffee liqueur, waffle cone, marshmallow smores, coconut hints, flan, dark fruits like raisins, plums, figs, Danish cookies, honey berry preserves, butterscotch and tootsie rolls.
Flavors:
Rich vanilla, Rich dulce de leche caramel, White chocolate, Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, Khalua coffee liqueur notes, buttery toast, Belgian waffle notes, tootsie rolls, toffee, butterscotch, mocha, java coffee, espresso notes, flan, White Russian Chocolate, Capirotada raisins bread pudding, Irish cream, buttery pecan ice cream, mocha frappuccino Jericalla Mexican Custard, dark fruit raisins, plums, figs, rye bread, walnuts, Danish cookies, honey, berry preserves, tres leches/3 milks cake, maple syrup, stone fruit peaches and mild apricot notes.
Aftertaste:
White chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, fancy roasted coffee, dark fruit, honey, and earthy notes. Mild alcohol in the taste, light to medium golden body, syrupy, creamy yet smooth mouthfeel and a sipping drinkability.
Overall:
Top of the Top, this beer is exactly what the Dude ordered. This is pretty damn full forward white Russian but as a beer it employs a great amount of complexity that can only be found in beer. This was so damn good. I wish I had a secondary one. Pipeworks is pretty crazy brewery always innovating and seems to be more and more my favorite brewery in the Midwest next to the Three Floyds, Surly, Half Acre and others. It is a damn shame we can’t get this so easily here in California, but I would gladly buy more of the Pipeworks if I can see them more often. Highly recommended.
Anime Corner:
Parace L’sia from Arcana Heart is used in this pairing since I wanted to show something in relation the big lebowski and the white Russian. The colors of Parace are in relation to white and chocolate and coffee from the white Russian. Also, the bath robe and the way she has her drink about goes with the name of the beer to be careful not to spill it but as you can see in the background, this is no ordinary drink and is something more magical….Not a drop as spilled that day.

Sure Bet by Pipeworks brewing
Sure Bet by Pipeworks brewing is a 9.5% ABV World Class Double India Pale Ale brewed with honey and mango puree.
Label:
Just the mere thought of the talk of a Citra and Mosaic hopped IIIPA brewed with honey and mango fills the Unicorn with too much joy and happiness for one horn to handle. The closest The Unicorn has come to this level of joy was when once, while skipping over rainbows, he encountered a cloud shaped like a rainbow! The Unicorns #1 favorite food is sunlight, but his #2 and #3 are honey and mangos respectively, and this brew has ’em both! The only thing that The Unicorn loves more than keeing something for himself, is sharing! So pour yourself a glass, because this beer’s a SURE BET!
==Introduction==
I obtained this beer through my online resources. I was unable to find this at any online shop. Seeing as this was a rarity and a highly rated beer, I really wanted to try it and bring it to the site. This is an IPA that can compare with some of the best IPAs out there and the fact that it has mango puree and honey. Well that just speaks tropical heaven to me. Let us see what this beer has to offer and see if this one is worth the buzz. Cheers!
Aromas:
A bouquet of rich tropical fruit fills the nose reminiscent of Power Plant and other awesome Tropical IPAs I have had before. Mango, Guava, Passion Fruit, Dragon Fruit Lychee, Papaya, Pineapples, Apricots, Strawberries, Prickly pears, raspberries, cherries, tangerines, tuna fruit, peaches, creamy vanilla, agave nectar, piney grassy, grapefruit, floral, herbal and dank garlicky hops, Sweetened condensed milk, tres leches cake, flan, caramel, gummy bears, citrus, orange and mango preserves, coconut hints and marshmallows.
Flavors:
Ridiculous amount of tropical fruits from all over the spectrum such as oranges, grapefruit, lychee, apricots, mangos, guava, papaya, dragon fruit, passion fruit, honey dew melon, strawberries, prickly pear, tuna fruit, raspberries, cherries tangerines, apples, peaches and cream, agave nectar, piney, grassy, herbal, floral, earthy, dank oniony, garlicky and grapefruit hops, sweetened condensed milk, tres leches cake, mango flan, caramel, gummy bears, citrus and mango preserves and orange preserves on rye bread, toffee, butterscotch, blue basil, peppercorn hints, lemon candy, coconut hints and marshmallows.
Aftertaste:
Very rich tropical fruits, variety of citrus fruit, rich mango, honey, dank piney, garlicky oniony, grassy, floral, earthy and herbal hops linger. No alcohol in the taste, golden medium body, creamy, crips, refreshing and silky mouthfeel and an easy to drink beer despite the ABV.
Overall:
Talk about rare GEMS no one knows about. Supremely righteous of tropical gods! This Double IPA blew me away into the stratosphere. I have to agree that addition of mango and honey dynamically changes the beer from its highest potential on its own. This is why Power Plant by El Segundo brewing can be the best triple IPA in the world to me, but this one is beyond that with the addition of the ingredients that take it to the next level. Holy Shit! This beer is like the absolute Trifecta of the IPAs. Meaning, you get a huge balance of the herbal, the orange malty and the rich tropical aspect found in many IPAs. If I find the right recipe for this, I will have to make this one for sure! For now, you better make DAMN SURE BET that I will recommend this to the masses! The Pliny and Heady killer of the midwest.
Anime Corner:
Twighlight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash from MLP were used in this pairing to pair two of the best sides of an IPA. The malty sweet side represented by Twilight sparkle and the citrus and tropical fruit flavors represented by Rainbow Dash. Since this beer has a unicorn and has so many colors representing the flavor spectrum of the delights that is this beer, the ponies were the right choice to compliment the beer and label. That and this is the most bad ass I could find these characters.

Don’t be alarmed, those chains are made of chrome steel…or are they? This season, enjoy the 3 Dragons of Thanksgiving, the strangest story ever conceived by man. “You’ll see it wasn’t airplanes that killed the dragon, it was beauty beautiful blueberry pie that killed the beast *Spoiler Alert
==Introduction==
Pipeworks brewing beers are so far away yet, thankfully, to online resources, I am able to bring this one forward. Blueberry beers are something of a rare commodity and when done right, they can be spectacular. I have only had a chance to try the Ninjas vs. Unicorn from Pipeworks and believe me, I wish I had more. They seem to be making some great beers out in the mid west and is something I hope we can see here in California. For now, I plan on doing this beer review since the blueberry beers I have tried in the past are freaking awesome. So let’s take a look at this limited release one, cheers!
Aromas:
Banana, clove spice, bubble gum, ginger spice, cinnamon, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla , carmel, dark fruits like raisins, plums, toffee, rich blueberry pie, blueberry cheesecake, tart raspberries, currants, Concorde grapes, flan, brown sugar, dark chocolate, Mexican chocolate, piloncillo and raisins bread pudding.
Flavors:
Rich Bananas, clove spice, Blueberry pie, hazelnut, pecan pie, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, piloncillo, dark fruit raisins, plums, figs, currants, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, dulce de leche caramel, vanilla, raisin bread pudding, bubblegum, flan hints, ginger bread, fruit cake notes, pumpkin spice, Mexican Chocolate notes, dark chocolate, chocolate covered blueberries, marshmallows, coconut hints, brown sugar, Danish cookies, toffee, strawberry shortcake and blueberry cheesecake.
Aftertaste:
Dark fruits, clove spice, ginger spice, cinnamon, blueberry muffins, earthy notes and caramel. No alcohol in the taste, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, pitch dark crimson and purple full body and a moderate drinkability.
Overall:
Damn good and complex blueberry ale. Aside from being being nice and fruit, the spices of fall are laid it out very well in front. This beer is my second favorite next to the Draco from Montegioco (which was also a dragon beer with blueberries) and the Smashed Blueberry beer from Shipyard. This beer has definitely hit many of those dark fruit notes not just blue berry and what a true blueberry pie with crust and icecream is supposed to be like. A total crazy dessert. I highly recommended especially since it has a dragon on the label!
Anime Corner:
Asmodeus from Shinra Bansho, Amari by luigiix and Godzilla personification by gamerag3 were chosen as the three dragons of Thanksgiving. I am not sure if I will get a chance to find the other beers but to go with the aspect of 3 blueberry dragons or dragon like characters, I chose them Asmodeus to represent the fierceness yet smoothness of the alcohol, Amari with the pie crust, vanilla, caramel and other sweet pie flavors of blueberries and Godzilla female personification as the dark fruits and the true drive of this beer especially how the dragon hugs the skyscraper like Zilla Jr. wrapped around the empire state building in the American Godzilla cartoon intro.

Obtained this little gem at wlvliquors.com. This is nowhere in California but is a common in Chicago. I have heard great things about this beer and the artwork as well as the beer intrigued me to get this one and do a review on it.
Aromas:
An immense amount of tropical fruits! Peaches, Lychees, Grapefruits, oranges, tangerines, dragon fruit, kiwis, prickly pear, strawberry, mango, passion fruit, apples, papaya, apricot, orange gummy bears, coconut, piney, grassy, floral and herbal hops, caramel, biscuit bread, mild garlic notes, toffee, lemon peel, pine resin and mild rye.
Flavors:
The tropics continue with Lychee, peaches, apricot, oranges, tangerines, dragon fruit, passion fruit, prickly pear, strawberries, mango, passion fruit, papaya, coconut, apples, orange marmalade on biscuit bread, toffee, caramel, herbal, floral, grapefruit and piney hops, lemon peel, garlic dankness, lemon peels, rye, guava jelly, honey and hints of flan.
Overall:
Holy shit!, this is incredible! Almost everything about this beer is insane! It reminds me of the Power Plant Triple IPA from El Segundo Brewing but this one is just super duper tropic centrifuge. This beer is pretty damn insane. I love tropical sweet IPAs and this one has a shit ton of tropics that makes it hard to pinpoint all the flavors.
Anime Corner:
Yoruichi Shihouin from Bleach and Rainbow Dash from MLP were used in this pairing mainly because I wanted to do something that related to the whole Ninja Vs. Unicorn aspect.
