The Temptress by Lakewood Brewing is a 9.1% ABV Imperial Milk Stout brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla.

Va-va-voom! Our Temptress is seduction in a glass. Curvy in all the right places, this Imperial Milk Stout pours with a thick, milk chocolate head. Chocolate and caramel malt give it a rich and complex body while the lower carbonation gives the beer a silky mouth feel. She’s voluptuous, with a soft alcohol warmth that grows deeper with every sip. Take your time with her and she’ll reward you.

Up next is the Temptress which was given to me by my great friend Aaron Mendiola of www.beermetaldude.com. Milk Stouts can be some of the best beers ever when done right. I have had many Milk stouts and many like Smoglifter are really guilty pleasures as they are a dessert in a bottle. For being 9% ABV, this could get messy but delicious, so come join me as we take a look at the Temptress. Cheers!
Aromas:
Rich dark chocolate, milk chocolate, bakers chocolate, chocolate milk shake, dulce de leche caramel, vanilla, milk sugar, whipped cream, crème brulee, marshmallows, smores chocolate, oreo cookies, Danish cream, flan, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, rocky road ice cream and oatmeal cookies.
Flavors:
Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, German chocolate, bakers chocolate, chocolate milk shake, milk sugar, vanilla, caramel, crème brulee, marshmallow, roasted coffee notes, mocha, dark fruit raisins, cherry, currants, Irish cream, Danish cream cookies, oreo cookies, cookies and cream, oatmeal, pecan pie, hazelnut nectar, flan, sweetened condensed milk, molasses, rocky road ice cream hints, chocolate and cherry cake.
Aftertaste:
Finishing sweet with mocha, vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, milk sugar and earthy roasted notes. No alcohol in the taste, creamy, silky and smooth mouthfeel, easy to drink despite the ABV and pitch black body.
Overall:
One of the perfect examples of a milk stout that is so damn good, it truly is a guilty pleasure!! The balance, complex flavors and drinkability is ridiculous. Texas has really brought out some of the best craft beers the industry has to offer and having a great friend like Aaron to hook me up with something like this is amazing. I hope to some day see some of these beers in California. I highly recommend this one and would get several if I had the chance.
Anime Corner:
Seras Victoria and Alucard from Hellsing were chosen for this pairing since I wanted to pair the name of the beer, the temptress and the fact that this beer is a guilty and sinful pleasure. So it works with the whole seduction by Seras onto Alucard. This beer is also evil as it is smooth and easy to drink despite the ABV. Finishing several of these 12 ouncers will do you in and mess you up like a succubus/incubus. It is like saying Leading into Temptation and Delivering into Evil.
