Albino Python by Coney Island is a white lager brewed with spices. This is the second time I pick up this beer and needless to say, it is a great beer. Mainly because it is a lager at (6.0%) which means unlike an ale, is fermented in cold temperatures rather than warm temperatures. This allows the brewers to take more control over certain flavors during the brewing process. This beer adds ginger, fennel and orange peels. The result is more of a Wit lager. It has those Belgian White, Coriander spice flavors but with more of a caramel pilsner malt light taste as well as some piney and citrus. Amazing how this brewery can brew beers in lager form and provide something that is well, rich in flavor, and very, very refreshing :P.
Original Review:
The Coney Island Albino Python was a beer recommended by my friend Rich. A lager type beer made with hops, malts and spices including ginger, fennel, and orange peels. I must say this is very close to a heffeweizen but not as heavy. Never the less this beer is delicious and refreshingly great. Starts of with a rush of flavors coming from the ginger and oranges. The malts are felt throughout and the finish leaves with a nice bitterness from the hops. I enjoyed this beer alot and would recommend it as well. LOL I wonder if they sell this in a six pack 😛
