For God sakes, this beer is at 100+ ibus (international bitterness units). A very good beer if your into bitterness…Don’t mess with this, unless your willing to have the bitterness stay past 30 minutes..LOL worth trying again
REVISIT: Okay it is time for a real review now. I have tried this beer more than like 10 times and there is a reason I keep going back. Probably by now my taste buds have found the true meaning of Ruination IPA by Stone Brewing, the arrogant bastards at San Diego county. My taste buds are now one with bitterness…lol… The thing is when I first had this brew last year it was super super bitter, like not even Arrogant bastard bitter. I am talking about the kind of stuff that last a very very long time. Sorry not water for me, I liver for the bitterness as most hop heads of the world do…lol..Unfortunately those without the taste buds for greatness miss out on the rarities to find true gold past the bitterness. I do not mean the fact that this bottle is already gold plated. I mean the fact that if you get used to trying great beers and great IPAs, you find this hidden Garden of Eden apple that not many people get too try. Life is short. For most, beer tasting might not be your thing but hey if you are reading this…. At least try something you will really enjoy with your life. Not often do people have the luxury. Anyways for me this beer is world class….Not just in the super bitterness but because of the flavors I found personally in this. The ridiculous delicious flavor has an intense hoppy, grassy, piney flavor. The grapefruit citrus flavors is there. The mango sweetness is there. Amazingly enough after several taste you will get some flowers and passion fruit flavor out of this as well. Yes I have personally tried some Passion fruit from my friend Oscar and Alex B’s house. Minor toffee and caramel are there. A distinct bready flavor is minor as well. It leaves the tongue very bitter and dry, but here is where the fun comes in. Keep sipping. Trust me this is heaven in a bottle before you are blasted to a 30 minutes of bitter hell. But you definitely want to climb your ass back up now don’t you? You cannot deny this beers greatness, hell so many websites have said it, I have lived it and have tried it so many times… Definitely in my top 10 of massive beers… Do not let this treasure pass by!!
