Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Dead Guy Ale at 6.5% ABV by Rogue Brewing of Oregon is Hellsbock style ale. I first tried this beer, well back in Iowa during the liquor around the world trip I had with my friends Rich, Jason and Steve. Bitter as heck back in the day, but what did I really know. Back then I probably lost my sense as I was hammered. So after that time I decided well I will try it again with my friend Jorge at Car

inos. Wow, it was amazing!!!. After then I tried this beer like several dozen times and was like this beer is one of my favorites. Rogue Brewing always makes some of the most epic beers with mainly all natural ingredients and they always tell you EXACTLY what your drinking. Hell, they are graceful enough to make beer kits to make these beers for yourself. Here is what’s in the recipe:
8 Ingredients:
Malts: Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan.
Hops: Perle and Saaz.
Yeast & Water: Rogue’s Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water.
=================================================================

Rogue’s personal pacman yeast is like a caramel/vanilla bread. I know as this is a trace I have seen in some ales like the Hazelnut brown. The bitterness is up front but the aftertaste has a nice malty sweetness licorice and honey. The closest thing to this beer is an amber ale but well, through some more caramel and vanilla sweetness. There is also some fruity sweetness that is kinda hard to tell if it is a berry or a citrus or both but it sure taste good. A definite pickup, easily a past time favorite and should not be dismissed. Many places will have this beer…ofcourse not the regular pilsner stacked coolers but the average local craft shop, Bevmo, or anywhere…. Good stuff…Never say no to the dead guy!!
