Wonderstuff delivers the clean, balanced flavors you’d expect from a Bohemian Style Pilsner, but with a powerful, citrus hop twist. Truly the stuff of wonder, this beer will change the way you think about light lagers.
==Introduction==
Special thanks to my good friend and homebrew brother, Richard Avila of Avila Ales for donating this beer to the website. This is the first beer I have ever tried from Bauhaus brew labs and for this one to be a pilsner is right on time for the spring. Bauhaus has many other beers and focuses on nice lighter everyday beer such as lagers and light European styles. Let’s have a look at this one, cheers!
Aromas:
Floral, herbal and grassy hops, vanilla hints, biscuit bread, lemon zest, citrus, tropical fruit hints, lemon peel, and stone fruit hints.
Flavors:
Biscuit bread, herbal, floral and piney hops, honey suckle, stone fruit peach notes, honey dew melon, kiwi, citrus, pilsner malt, vanilla hints, lemon candy notes, lemon peel, grape hints, mango hints and crackers.
Aftertaste:
Finishing dry with notes of honey, biscuit bread, mild tropics, floral and herbal hops. No alcohol in the aftertaste, golden pale clear light body, crisp, clean, smooth and refreshing mouthfeel along with a very easy drinkability.
Overall:
A very good pilsner showcasing some nice hoppy characteristics. It is not too hoppy but as an undertone that provides some nice balance and mild tropical flavors as would some pale ales. I would recommend this one for the spring or summer days as this one is an everyday beer.
Anime Corner:
Jeanne D’arc from Fate/Apocrupha was used in this pairing in relation to Europe beers and since this is a light beer which pairs well with Jeanne’s colors in this artwork. There wasn’t much to go off with this one so I tried to mainly pair with something that looks awesome.
