Cherry Chocolate Bock by Samuel Adams 5.8% ABV Bock brewed with cherries and cocoa nibs

Label:
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

I had always wanted to pick this up at the local store since I first tried the original Chocolate bock many years ago. I obtained this bottle when I went to one of my friends parties and I was given a bottle to try and take with me. It comes in a 12 pack for the Sam Adams winter season.

Aromas:
Rich strong cherry candy fragrance, chocolate, cherry tootsie pop, biscuit bread, chocolate covered cherries notes, licorice and raisins

Flavors:
Cherry tootsie roll forward, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, licorice, raisin bread, biscuit bread, and dark cherry yogurt notes.

Aftertaste:
Leaves close to dry but the cherry, chocolate and raisin. Easy to drink, no alcohol in the taste and creamy mouthfeel.

Overall:
This beer is great if you love a beer that gets to the point in terms of what it is that it is supposed to taste like. A sweet dessert beer for the holiday. Just that fact that it is chocolate brings it that much closer to perfect in my mind.

Anime Corner:
This is an original drawing by Aile Crossroads. I picked this piece to pair as it was obvious. It solidifies the chocolate and cherry flavors that this beer represents as well as complimenting on the colors of the labels. The sexy look of the girl compliments the silky smooth aspect of the beer.
