Beer#1 (January) Nibiru is a 7.6% ABV Yerba Mate Tripel.
Nibiru a.k.a “Planet X” is in reference to the theory of a cataclysmic event where there is an encounter with this large planetary body that will either collide or nearly miss the Earth. Many believers in the 1990’s believed that it would take place some time in 2003. It never did so many who still believe in the theory do so believing it could happen as an apocalyptic theory for what could happen on 12-21-2012
This beer reminds me of the Sahti by DFH. It is bready sweet with banana cloves, herbs and spices, floral notes, yerba mate tea bitterness, oranges, pears, candy fruits, lemon some grains. The beer is a decent tripel. Not as full flavored as Belgians go but this one is different for sure. Sahti has more flavor intense but this one still had a lot to over. Give this a try, you may like it 🙂
