Triple Exultation by Eel River is a 9.7% ABV Certified Organic Old Ale. By Old Ale, I mean it is an aged beer. Unlike the usual barrel aged beers, this one pays tribute to ye olden times when beer used to be referred as “mild ale” or “old ales”. Today we have barrel aged beers and oaked aged beers. However the difference is that this one is aged in Vats. Some beers are aged with certain types of yeast strains to bring about the beers complexity while others are aged with other ingredients. For this beer, it is actually more of a barley wine. Although unlike a barley wine, it has more complex flavors about. The barley wine bread does seem to be in there providing some honey, vanilla, pine and bread a la Old Guardian except the hoppy/grassy bitterness. This beer though actually has more fruitiness such as raisins, figs and other dark fruits.There is this caramel flan sense in this that is hard to tell but it is quite delicious. For those that like aged beers or barley wines, you should definitely try this Organic little Epic of a brew P-/
