2011 Review:
New Belgium’s Lips of Faith Series has brought out another masterpiece called Clutch. It is a collaboration brew with New Belgium and Maryland Hard-Rockers brewing companies. This beer is reminiscent of another favorite of mine called Jolly Pumpkin’s Dark Dawn or Madrugada Obscura. The beer is a Stout with nice roasted malts but it is actually mixed in with a sour wood ale. The flavors I get from this is the sweetness of coffee/chocolate of stouts, but sourness of dark fruits like cherries is present in the after taste, just like Madrugada. I definitely enjoyed this beer as it reminded so much of the Dark Dawn it was awesome. Nevertheless, the beer is limited and worth enjoying while it last 🙂
