2011 Review:
New Belgium’s Kick is an ale brewed with pumpkin and cranberries. The beer pour really coppery and amber colors. This beer looks like something that would of been brewed by Jolly Pumpkin ales but it is a collaboration of New Belgium and Elysian minds. The beer is reminiscent of one of my favorite pumpkin ales, La Parcela but with extra flavor of cranberry giving this one a sour and tart taste to the palette. Because of it’s strength it also reminds me of La Ephemere Apple. There does seem to be some apple and grapey notes in this one. A beer that seems more like a strong pumpkin berry cider at that with a wine like after taste. The label intrigued me and the taste took me to Halloween early this year. Definitely in the right season for this one and a pick that should not be missed 🙂
