Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel by Privatbrauerei Franz Inselkammer KG / Brauerei Aying

Rating: 3.75/5

Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel by Privatbrauerei Franz Inselkammer KG / Brauerei Aying is a 5% ABV Munich Dunkel German Lager. A beer that reminds me of something like Victoria lager but if you added more flavor complexity with a stronger fragrance in the ingredients. This beer is 5%ABV so choosing this over like lets say Budweiser is a world of a difference. This beer has flavors of raisins, caramel, toasted bread, honey, herbs, wheat, minor metallic crisp bitterness like some lagers, oak and a bit of coffee like flavor. This is the second time I try this beer. While it is not super strong, it is quite refreshing and a step up from a lot of normal lagers. Those that enjoy lagers and would like to know about craft brewing should definitely try this one.

2011 Review:
Sweet beginning…bitter aftertaste….a nice brew that has alot of sweet caramel like flavors …almost like the celebrator dopple bock but not as strong…this munich style is good and id recommend it
