Raspberry Russian Imperial Stout 2012 by Widmer Brothers is an Imperial Russian stout at 9.3%ABV brewed with raspberries. I will admit, I was intrigued by the Raspberry and chocolate aspect of it. The beer actually has some good sweet flavors but then are covered by the bitterness. Reminds me of Old Rasputin if it was sweeter with a little bit of Lidemand’s Raspberry Framboise. This beer has roasty dark chocolate and coffee notes as most stouts go. Raspberry, black berry, currants, earthy, grassy, piny and hoppy bitterness. The alcohol is felt throughout as well. This would go awesome on a Beer Float I am sure 😛
