Hoptober Golden Ale by New Belgium brewing is a 6.00% ABV blonde ale. Brewed with 5 hops and 4 malts. Pale, wheat, rye and oat malts blend with centennial, cascade, Sterling, Willamette and Glacier hops. This bring about interesting flavors. Smells a little like a pale ale but the flavors are way different. The mix of hops and malts in this particular beer taste like sweet peach up front and sugar coated honey biscuit bread after taste. Has this Malibu Rum and Coconut flavor to it as well but more bitter than super sweet. Bitter citrus and pine is there through out the taste but not as harsh as an IPA or grassy as a APA. The odd combination sure does gives all sorts of flavors. A nice sweet and bitter, creamy beer. Refreshing and just enough to make you want a little more. Not the usual blonde or pale for that matter, but something well…a little different. Find this one in six packs or unless you find the specialty store and buy one just to try it.
