White Rascal Belgian-Style White Ale by Avery Brewing was a gift from my friend Alex after visiting Sunset Beer Company in Echo Park. I have seen this beer around but haven’t really had a chance to grab it. This is my first Avery brewing and from what I have tried so far, it is very good. At 5.6% it is on the light side of beers but well versed in flavor. The beer has a bread and orange flavor. This beer reminds me of Witch’s Wit by Lost Abbey. There are hints of Corriander, honey and banana flavors like Franziskaner but at a lighter degree. The after taste is a bitter but not overwhelming. The sweet and bitter compliment just right. If I had to choose for picking up a refreshing, light, flavorful beer I would try this. Well I for one was intrigued by this small gift and will be looking to see what other ranges of flavors Avery has to offer, besides their collaboration with the Isabelle Proximus. That’s another story all together I posted in my other album.
