Faithful Ale by Dogfish head is an ale brewed with Currants that pays tribute to the success of Pearl Jam’s 20th Anniversary \m/. It is a light golden copper Belgian Style ale at 7%. For those people that do not know who Pearl Jam is or Currants are, well I will try my best to explain both. I’ll start with Currants :P. They are actually these sun dried seedless grapes. They are not like raisins a
s raisins have seeds. Go figure :-/…Pearl Jam is an American Rock band from Seattle Washington who were a key group in the grunge movement of the 90’s along with Nirvana and others. There is more info on the band here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_Jam . I have some favorite songs of Pearl Jam including, “Black”, “Alive” and “Even Flow”. Even though this ale is not “Black”, the currants are. The ale is also “Alive” as it is brewed with Belgian yeast and it has an “Even Flow” as it pours. The beer has this Pilsner feel like a lager. Full of flavors like biscuit bread, honey, apples, grapes and orange peels. It has a bitter and sour after taste mixed with sweetness. I would include this to say. Another lager like ale with full of flavor. Pick it up if you can find it. You may like it as it is not too overwhelming but just full of nice spicy fruity flavor. I got this when me and my friend Alex visited this one Beer coffee shop called Sunset Beer Company. They have a good selection of things. Lucky they had enough as it seems they were selling very fast. So try yours today.
