A very strong Dunkel weizen or Weizenbock at 9% ABV Magic banana clove drink. This is the Lagunitas very own Bavarian-Style Doppel Weizen. Stronger than the good ol Franziskaner and much more complex in flavor at that. Happy new years everyone :P. This is my first review of the year :D. The beer is made with double the wheat and Bavarian yeast from Bavaria. The usual awesome bready clove and banana flavor with more to add. Slight dark fruity taste like raisin and plum with somewhat of a caramel oak notes for added flavors and minor pine grass feel to add bitterness. The tangyness of orange wheat is also there as well. Yes, truly a magnificent beer. I had overlooked it a couple times but hey,3 times a charm I guess. Also it is a limited release so this is a worth the try for sure. My favorite style of beer enhance to new levels in flavor and alcohol. For any Heffeweizen fans out there, this is a definite pickup. don’t let this pass up as I am sure they won’t last long out there. Surely right up there next to Franzy and Weistephaner…Maybe even a little better ;P …you be the judge of this masterpiece
