Adoration by Ommegang

Rating: 5/5 *Aged 1 year later Review

Update:
Adoration by Ommegang is 10%ABV Belgian Strong Dark Winder Ale. I had this saved up in a dark place for over a year so I figure I give it a try. Earlier this year I did not have the rating system and because I aged the beer, it definitely tastes a lot better than before. Ommegang may release this again later this year so base this review if you aged it 1 year. The below review is how I had it at the beginning of the year. Ofcourse, because it was bottled last year around this time, the timing seems perfect. So this time, the beer has gone from a German Heff/Belgian Hybrid to more of a Christmas quad. Some cinnamon spices, banana bread, the malts and alcohol are stronger so there is flavors of coffee, chocolate, coconut, dark fruits like cherries, raisins and plums. The faint corriander and orange peels have seems to turned into more of a faint sweet orange juice. There is more over powering caramel, nutmeg and pecans now. The after taste of sweet oranges and citrus still lingers as its trying to over power the other sweet flavors. Amazing how a beer matures into something delicious. I think this is like if you were to mix St. Bernardus abt 12 with Franziskaner. I think the ABV may have also risen. I do no think it is not longer 10%ABV. Maybe more like 11-12%ABV. Ah but that doesn’t matter. I am sure the beer would taste even better if aged longer XP.

Earlier Review:
Adoration, to pay honor or be devoted or love something or someone. This beer is a present me and Juan gave to his brother Chino. The brew was so awesome I had to get my own cus I adored it a lot but also because I wanted to share this brew with those that like to read my mini beer reviews :P. Adoration by Ommegang brewery is the cousing of the awesome Three Philosophers beer. This is the Adoration Special Winter Ale. A Belgian Strong Dark Ale brewed for winter and perfect for those cold nights where you just wanna snuggle up with a blanket and just sit next to the heater or a fire place while sipping this awesomeness :P. Surely I like to pair some of the beers with anime characters. This time I found an awesome Samus pic with her Metroid adopt. The little guy first saw Samus as her mom and was always following. So I figure it be perfect. Anyways, this delicious brew is made with Spices, Coriander, Cardamom, Mace, Grains of Paradise and sweet orange peels. The funny things is that this is somewhat of a heff/belgian yeasty hybrid. It is amazing ly complex as you get the flavors of Belgian bread but with sweet tangy citrus. If I would explain correctly, this beer is like having an orange bread. Chino being a fan of heffs with orange, we figured it be the best present he’d have from me and his brother Juan. Surely this was a brew that even I was like… I gotta try it again and share with the class B-). There is also these fruity dark raisin and minor cherry flavors reminiscent of the 3 philosophers but not quite there exactly. There is also some what of a chocolate and vanilla caramel after taste. LOL as you can I like sweet tasting beer :P, but IPAs are so awesome too…The more bitter and Arrogant like the better :D. I also get this off cinnamon and pumpkin nutmeg after taste reminiscent of the a lot of winter abbey ales I have tried. A good Christmas/Bday present for my friend Chino.. An awesome brew for me in the winter time and an awesome pick up. Act now though…the winter time comes and you will miss out on this brew if your not quick and feisty :3 to pick it up before any one else does ;3
