Hofdraak by Belgian Brewery ‘t Hofbrouwerijke

ImageThis is Hofdraak by Belgian Brewery ‘t Hofbrouwerijke. It is a Belgian Dark sweet caramel bready ale at 6.5% ABV. When I first saw this I was like wow!!. The details in the artwork just like the Bosprotter are eye candy within itself. I like dragons so I was very exited to be able to find this brew. This is not a common brew at all and a specialty store had imported it from that brewery which mostΒ likely only speak in Belgian. Either way, it was amazing to see this epic brew as for the taste it doesn’t down at all. This being a quad of sorts with its fermented 4 times yeast is actually like a more bitter abt 12 but with out the intense alcohol. It is a brew for those that like trappist and Belgian quads or darks but are looking for a lower ABV content with the rich flavor. It has so much to offer. I get the usual vanilla/caramel/toffee/chocolate/plum bread along with notes of herbs and spices and tangy hoppy hints. Just amazing overall for such a little dragon bottle. I like the medieval look as always and dragons are just awesome. Also about the brew, it pours a lot of head and was lucky not to spill a drop anywhere. For a such a rarity it is kinda hard if some would spill..LOL although I would already have the main effect of the ale within a couple of sips. Surely everything is worth it in this one, taste and art πŸ™‚
